History of Aacharya Ram Chandra Mahavidyalaya
Aacharya Ram Chandra Mahavidyalaya (ARCM), located at Thangaon, Reusa in Sitapur district of Uttar Pradesh, was established with the vision of promoting quality higher education in the field of agriculture and allied sciences. The institution is affiliated with the University of Lucknow and aims to develop skilled agricultural professionals, researchers, and entrepreneurs who can contribute to the development of modern agriculture.
The college is named after the renowned Indian scholar and literary critic Acharya Ram Chandra Shukla, one of the most influential thinkers in Hindi literature. Born in 1884 in Uttar Pradesh, Acharya Shukla dedicated his life to the study of literature, culture, and philosophy. His famous work “Hindi Sahitya Ka Itihas” is considered one of the most important texts in Hindi literary studies.
Inspired by his intellectual legacy, Aacharya Ram Chandra Mahavidyalaya was established on 2 February 2024. The institution carries forward his values of academic excellence, critical thinking, and cultural awareness by creating an educational environment focused on knowledge, innovation, and social responsibility.
The college began its academic journey with the introduction of the B.Sc. (Hons.) Agriculture program in the academic session 2024–2025. The program is designed in accordance with modern agricultural education standards and aligned with the National Education Policy (NEP).
ARCM aims to bridge the gap between traditional farming knowledge and modern scientific agriculture. Through field training, laboratories, research activities, and extension programs, the institution provides students with practical exposure to real-world agricultural challenges.
Situated in an agriculturally important region of Uttar Pradesh, the college plays an important role in strengthening agricultural education and supporting rural development. By combining education, research, and innovation, ARCM strives to prepare the next generation of agricultural leaders.
